Sony have shown a remarkable vision of the future of gaming delivered to mainstream audiences. I don't know if it will be fully realised but it shows that they've dreamed about this and want to make this happen.
If I'm honest I'd say that I thought Microsoft being historically a software company would have trumped them. But Microsoft's vision is of a cable TV modifier box. This might work great for the USA but for Europe and other non-NA territories it is...
@admiralvic. Just to correct you, the first PS3 game to get trophies was Super Stardust, a digital download game. The first blu-ray game to get trophies was Uncharted: Drake's Fortune via a post launch patch. I know because I played the hell out of both of them!
Owning "ALL DA CONSOLES" doesn't prove a person is free of personal bias.
I'm not saying you are Torrence (although you are) it's just that I'm sick of people saying that thinking it means they are a better class of gamer. I always buy all the main consoles but I don't try to trick other people or delude myself. I do have a preferences and so do you.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with preferring one console and it's ser...
I used to think the Kinect was an expensive hunk of junk that offers no real benefits to gamers, but this mount makes me want to head out to my local retailer and pick up an Xbox One from the big pile they have.
Surely they have off-site backups? :(
Godmars, the Banderas is much more than a month old.
The original clip was used a general meme prior to this year. But then the first hard association with PS4 (that I can think of) is a clip from earlier this year of the PS4 being turned on and on the tv is the Banderas clip. Then it all went Banderas/PS4 crazy!
Memes can be so brilliantly funny in that they make a great point with a very short image.
Don't listen to Kotaku - they are a pro- Microsoft site and they want to kill off the Banderas!
He definitely does it. It's just that there is no pause before the hug.
It's crazy how this has become so big. Yoshida put The Banderas into words by describing it as the joy gamers feel for PlayStation 4. Lovely.
Mark Cerny deserves his place at number 1. He took the time to design architecture that would be easy to develop for and ultimately benefit gamers. He is also one of those rare tech personalities who are engaging when they speak. Congratulations Mark.
@gigorian. er. It was a joke from an episode of The Simpsons which I forgot to credit - doh! Bart is in Australia an where the locals have a parade where a big sign is carried that says "Celebrating 20 years of electricity!"
They've only had electricity for 20 years so this behaviour is not entirely unexpected.
But for a game with cartoon graphics it's a real shame that adult gamers in a Western country can't even be allowed the choice to buy the unedited game.
After some of Microsoft's decisions earlier this year they are perceived to be pro casual TV user and anti-gamer. So this is PR spin to get back on the side of gamers .
This is great news. I've been waiting for Microsoft to deliver on their XB one Reveal Event promise of more "TV, TV, TV!"
Where Sony go, Microsoft follow.
2013 has been defined by this. I wish Microsoft could get their mojo back and lead rather then this constant me-too behaviour. :(
Borderlands 2, DmC and Soul Sacrifice? Hot-Diggerty-Dam that's great value!
Meanwhile on Games with Gold we got Gears of War, a quality game but SEVEN years old, and Kingdom for Kelflings!
Major Nelson knows how to work the internet. He knows that if he says the Xbox One is the fastest selling or best selling next gen console then all the lazy news sites will just report it as fact regardless of whether it is BS. What a slimy but clever man he is!
It's a real shame that Microsoft reversed their policy of keeping digital prices in line with physical copies. However Xbone customers can choose to buy disc games so they still have a choice. God help us when they go all digital...
So is this the technical explanation behind that 'secret sauce' Major Nelson keeps banging on about?
Stupid, stupid article that I assume is trying to be funny whilst complaining about multiple things. The writer says he has wasted £4430 he invested in PS3 games because his console is dead, and that he believes it's a ruse by Sony to get him to buy a PS4 which doesn't have backwards compatibility. Well the obvious solution is just spend £160 to get a new PS3.
Don't let 'verified' trick you.
I was looking at some of them, many of these 'Verified' reviews are from first time reviewers. These reviews are filled with comments that say how bad Sony and PlayStation and the PS4 are but they are all celebratory in tone! When people buy a broken console they are pissed off - not happy.
Earlier this year it was revealed Microsoft invested heavily for a PR team to write reviews on the internet for Microsoft and their rival...
@admiralvic I completely understand that you made a minor error and were unable to correct it because of the time limit on the website editing system. It wasn't obvious to me what you 'meant' to say, I just commented on what you did say. No harm done! :)
